Here is a rule of thumb that I use....Moving fish are the most agressive and will most likely hit a spinner in clear water. When Osmo was up in that neck of the woods last week, the fish were moving through a nd wereagressive and hit most of their offerings....the day before, he said nothing...

Graphite rods wont take the same abuse as glass...if you bump it on something hard and dent it, it will probably break the next time you reef on a hang up....I would suggest a okuma celilo....pretty much unbreakable...

I have used lead free tin/alloy this year on all my jigs...I dont mold my own, I buy them from a guy in Hawaii. (try an internet search of lead free jigs)..he has fair prices that include shipping...I use vinyl paint instead of powder and they work fine...

The best way to improve top speed is a planning wing...It attaches to the lower unit and looks like jet wings...you will plane way faster and improve your top speed...I used em with a couple of smallish outboards...
