wrong dam in pic. not monroe. there is a concrete fish "ladder" on the west side of the dam. sattelite view should show it on the opposite side of river compared to your pic. pull a tape measure....pretty sure that if you fish from the east side(grafitti'd wall~~fu#kin' vandals) you are 200 feet...
Whatever you put on a normal hook should be allowed. The smart fish will watch it go right by. Survival of the fitest. Put that DuPont spinner back in your tackle box...that is cheatin'!

never caught a smallmouth in the longtom.....after 35 years of fishing it. did spook a 3'+sturgeon once while wading for carp! no 'real' catfish.....bullhead catfish 13-14" max(taste like mud). Some of my fondest memories were made along the banks of the Long Tom.
