Epic day at St. Louis...just stocked

I believe they stocked 3&6. The trophy size went into three. The pond I am calling three is the one directly north of the parking area and attendant trailer; 6 directly east.

Epic day at St. Louis...just stocked

Well the girlfriend and I headed down to Saint Louis late today after a wonderfully late sleep in, which we never do. Arrived about 1:00 and fished around for a couple of hours...very slow....3 decent sized and wonderfully colored bluegill each but nothing else on the hooks and did see anyone...

    Central Oregon fishing suggestions

Girlfriend and I are planning on heading to Central Oregon in mid April for a long 4-5 day weekend. We live in the Portland area and fish there regularly. We are looking to try out some new water but are unfamiliar with the area. We are spin/cast fisherpersons and we don't have a boat, so...

    Shimano spin reel question

And after further research and talking with a couple of other people, some of their reels also dont use any oil/grease and if the drag disks get greasy/oily you may have to clean with alcohol or brake cleaner or replace those; so read your manual, and of course if thrown out, google the reel...

    Shimano spin reel question

A lot of the currnet Shimano Spin Reels use a drag that has small (dime or penny) size fiber disks sandwiched between what are basically polished metal washers with a grease to keep the drag smooth (without pulling a reel apart I think there are three of each). Screw the tension nut down...

    Sunday trip.

Girlfriend and I were out on the W Sunday. Fished 3 different holes: guide, below the rapids/falls by elk creek and another just below the foot bridge, sorry not sure if named. Water was on the rise judging by the leaves and other small debris in the water. Nothing at at the one s of...

New to fly fishing, where to go within 75 miles of Beaverton

I have one pole set up with 5 weight floating and the other with 7 weight floating so that I would have some choice, most of the coho that I tend to catch are on the upper sandy and upper eagle creek and tend to be in the less than 15 pound class, would the 7 work or should I also invest in an 8...

New to fly fishing, where to go within 75 miles of Beaverton

Girlfriend and I head out about every other weekend for fishing. Up to this point we have been cast/spin fishing because of gear. We do not have a boat so we need walking/driving/hiking access, but both have waders, boots and the willingness to walk/hike. We were just given two 5/6 weight 8...

Although very tempted on many occasion to try my last post, though I never have, I am usually successfull with good 'ole human communication. We are all out after the same thing and sometimes just having a short conversation or even game of charades about how to cast in sink starting with the...

Tuna trip out of Garibaldi 7/28/12

My dad, girlfriend (her first tuna trip), good friend and I went out for Tuna on Saturday with Terry Luckett. The fishing was spotty, we came home with 10 fish, largest being between 30-35 pounds. We were a bit disappointed by the numbers of fish based on reports earlier in the week but all of...

Bass hitting topwater, bluegill in the spawn

I can't remember the pond number specifically but it was the very north east most pond and the one just south of that. My girlfriend and I walked most of the perimeter of most of both them, which did require some walking through thick vegetation and occasional blackberries but worth it.
