Having been here less than year, this is my first shad run. I tried a few different setups based on what I saw online plus suggestions. By far, the best setup for us has been a 1/2 to 3/4 inch slinky weight on a three way swivel, a 24 to 36 inch leader, and a shad dart with the hook slightly bent in and off center. Like 5 or 10 to 1 better than using a small flashy spoon or a roundhead jig. Usually gets hit as soon as it is in the zone, but otherwise just enough of a retrieve to keep it from hanging up on the bottom.
