woo hoo, Sept14 is finally here, wild coho retention has opened on these central coast rivers/bays: Siletz, Yaquina, Alsea, Siuslaw, Umpqua, Coos, and Coquille.
Check the regs updates for exact details and closing date for each location, most are 1/day-3/season (I think the Alsea is 1/2 this year).
Also, all wild coho retained on the coast, regardless of location, count towards your annual maximum of 5 (and this includes the coho lakes). You can catch all 5 in the lakes, or retain some from various locations, but you can never tag more than 5 per year.
Same as always- 1 wild coho jack (under 20") can be retained per day when you are fishing on water that is open for the retention of adult wild coho. But once you have retained the daily limit of adult salmon (1 or 2 depending on location), you CANNOT continue to fish for or retain trout or salmon jacks.
