This is my first steelhead season and I want to get back out fishing.

When will the rivers become fishable again, or what time I should at least go out looking?
Specifically eagle creek, clackamas, sandy, and nestucca area?

all rivers are different as far as how long they take to recede, but the farther upriver you go, the better it will be. the rain hasnt slowed too much yet, so it will be a while i would think.

Drove by Bonnie Lure this evening still high, monday or tuesday I would think. Color is good just high might be better up by the hatchery.

I called my buddie who lives by the alsea, he said theres no way it will fish by this weekend. I checked the siuslaw and its bad too

They will all be fishable when the water goes DOWN and the fish come UP!

The smaller the river the sooner it will clear.....

Jordan,

With the luck I have been having for the last two years I don't consider any of our rivers fishable.

I wish you better success than I have had,

Look to the NOAA website it will have a current listing of our waters. Now what that means to you, research. Get to know what the average mean and flow of the river you wish to fish.

It has been my thought, if the river is high fish higher up on the system.
Otherwise, I'm sure your gear needs some attention and now would be a good time for that. ;);)
