Floated from Clearwater to D st yesterday... Shred a lot of water to get to where I like to start fishing. I have been practicing flinging a line out and side drifting while I run the sticks and it finally paid off... Caught a 26" Buck. He had a little color to him but overall the meat looked good and tasted better... Sorry no pics I have found for myself If I forget nets cameras anything of importance I catch fish....

Haha true words. I have weekdays off now so have a feeling I'll be taking newbs this winter because of people's work schedules. Anyone with a shuttle vehicle basically lol I better get on the multitasking bandwagon!

I can't wait to be bumming around your neck of the woods... I really want to float below the deadline and do some salmon fishing but we are in desperate need for that wet stuff... what is it called again??? oh yeah RAIN!!! I hate to be the guy complaining about the weather we are having but we need some rain...

HA! I love it. It's the same for me. I took my boys salmon fishing to get them their first salmon this year. I knew we were going to do well when we got to the ramp and I noticed I didn't have my net. Sure enough, each of them got a salmon. There's nothing like getting a 7 year old out of the boat onto the shore while holding a rod attached to a salmon. We landed both fish and the extra effort was worth it.

Nice work on the Willy. I picked up a few fish in October but they were really colorful and the meat was less than great. Don't think I'll be keeping any more this year. The funny thing was one of them was the smallest I've ever caught....about 22". Great fighter but a tiny thing.

Does anyone know if there is such thing as a "jack" steelhead. I'm assuming that little one got into a group of older fish and decided to make the run upstream.

Josh, lets fish this commin weekend. I have no plans yet and could be the tag car.... not to mention I can also take turns rowing to let you fish, and I'll forget my net too! :lol: Even a short float for a couple hours if ya want.

Aha...a new secret. I am too meticulous and never seem to forget anything, but then don't seem to catch the fish I want. Looks like I need to 'forget' some stuff and see what happens

I second that. Praying for rain. Been wanting to do that float for a damn month. Looks like it will b a few weeks or longer...damn this weather.

Thats good to know!! I been itchen to try and ink another one, but i gave up on em after i bagged my 10th october 3rd. Might ahve to go again. Prolly just catch and realease for the hell of it
