I have not been back to that spot to try yet. River was super blown when I last was out and access was blocked. I'll get there on Sunday. I'll post updates. Gonna try the fly method among others.

I hit that area today and lost a nice fish but it wasn't in the exact spot described in this thread, although I could see it from where I was. There were people lining the bank everywhere and though I didn't catch it, I did see a person bring in a fish (using lures) in the spot.
