I have had access through a friend to a private lake in washington, right near bridge of the gods. It used to be an old logging camp, then a fishing club, and now it is just an exclusive lake surrounded by multi million dollar homes which some are only accessable by boat. Ican't begin to describe how thriving the ecosystem is. it's home to sturgen, bass, trout(stocked and native redband), kokanee, and I'm not going to even get into thethe lush forest, and water flora. The only real downside is really snooty plastic people, but thats mainly the non resident family members.
At fist I thought it was such a shame o keep this place gated up, but I realized what many of people would do to ecosystem. I have come to the conclusion that this wasn't hording it was also preserving a little oasis.
Anyway sorry about the rant. a lot of people won't want strangers trapsing around thier property, but a nice pice of smoked salmon goes a long way twords making new friends.
