My first steelhead spinner attempts

I went ahead and spent about 60$ and made up some steelhead spinners from a mudhole kit and some other extra stuff I bought.
Tell me what you think:

Total cost was about a buck a spinner so not to bad a price.
 
Nice work, and a buck a shot is dirt cheap. Did you have to buy or did you already have any special tools?
 
Those look pretty good. It doesn't look like you used split rings to attach the hook? Using split rings really limits the fishes ability to get leverage and pop the hook out.
 
That's a good suggestion about split rings...I hadn't heard that before. No special tools just some needlenose pliers and nippers.
 
I would fish em in a heart beat.
 
Pretty nice looking spinners, don't forget some blue and silver's
 
So old thread but still. Finally fished these spinners the other day. Truth to tell they were a little small (#4) and heavy for the water conditions we were facing. My buddy was fishing a #5 vibrax and he did hook into one fish. Good learning experience my next batch will be perfect!
