Myself and my family made a trip out to Minnesota to visit some good friends of ours. While we were there we went out on a lake and caught a dozen northern pike over a couple of days. Those are mean aggressive beasts! The kids caught blue gill to their hearts content. A few largemouth were thrown into the mix, but the Midwest is also in a major drought and lakes were down 4-6 feet making bass fishing tough. We also stopped off on the upper Mississippi River for some smallmouth fishing. It was a great trip, we will be out again, next time for ice fishing.
