It's just a couple of days until the lower Columbia River opens for the chinook marked select run. It opens on June 16h above the Astoria Bridge to Mc Nary Dam. Since the ocean does not open until July 1st off the Columbia River guess I'll give that summer run a shot. It's marked chinook only along with 5 hatchery jacks and clipped steelhead so it might be interesting. It's time to brine up some herring and check out those spinners. My hooks are barbless and the Columbia River endorsement is on the license so I'm good to go. The good news is the high tide is not until 11:30am so it will be an easy morning fishery.
