Just discovered an amazing addition to a blade

I just happened to bag some glitter for a customer and noticed how it sparkled when looking at it from different directions.
So I put a drop of nail polish on the concave surface of a small Colorado blade and sprinkled fine gold hologram sparkle. No matter what angle viewed, various colors sparkled and even in low light! It didn't take much, being less than 1/4" in diameter, but I believe fish will notice color and concentrated light flashes regardless of the direction the lure is when being seen. Next, I may try various colors such as silver hologram, silver, chartreuse or gold flake.

The other idea I just had is to sprinkle glitter into the mold of a poured plastic lure rather than mix the glitter into the liquid plastisol before microwaving it. This shape, derived from first using a tablespoon, is clear colored and glitter on the surface would make for a great visual effect even in murky water or in low light. (BTW, I call it my spoonminnow design LOL)
Note: the clear plastic reflects light from the surface and internally and distorts transmitted color internally, something a fish's big ol' eyes can't miss!. (y))

Glad to see you were on here some of the stuff that you read or my old stomping grounds I was born and raised in Portland.
One thing I like about here is that you could edit your comments anytime you want to.

LOVE oregonfishingforum !!! One of my favorites.

Lots of good fishing in Oregon we have fish for salmon and steelhead trout. Mainly, it was panfish for me in the snake river..

Something that we are working with, we are starting to tie up hair jigs in the same fashion. These were a good old standby many years ago as you can tie up a steelhead pattern or any other pattern..

Superb quality!

Other than putting glitter into the mold, I recently heated one side of the lure with a lighter and sprinkled holographic glitter on it. Even in low light, the twinkle of the multi-color dots of glitter can't help but be noticed even in dim light or in the shade. The glitter is on the surface/ not in the plastic, so the visual effect is much more striking. The only time the glitter would be seen, though not nearly as well, is if the plastic were clear.
