Hook size for salmon

Sorry but just starting salmon fishing. Going to make some bead rigs for salmon. What size of hook should I be using for 8 mm --14 mm beads

Not sure about bead rigs, but in general for mooching rigs I use size 4 and 5. Never to old to learn so what is a bead rig, have not heard that term.

Just what I called it fixed bead above hook 1.5- 2 inches above hook.

Irishrover, The Bead rig Utahutes is referring to is a drifting set up as apposed to a trolling Rig.

Cromatose thanks for the explanation. I was thinking big water salmon fishing. Those videos made it clear. Could work well with a tube fly. It did remind me a lot of the old drift fishing with a corky.
