Freshwater stripers

I'm looking for a striper. I'll probably try the umpqua, maybe Smith.
When are they in the rivers? I heard they need the flowing water for their eggs, but i can't find when their spawning season is. Are they only in fresh water for a couple months? Or perhaps longer, maybe even year round?
Appreciate the help~

Stripers in the Smith?
That's close enough to run through the forest and drop a sardine.
Anyone care to offer a good access spot to bait fish them along Lower Smith River Road?
I'm disabled and can't walk/climb well with rugged shore line.
Boat launch ramps work well for me but I don't know of any on the Smith.

There is a ramp/park about 4 miles up from where you turn off 101

Park right on the 2 mile post and send out a herring on the bottom
My cousin caught huge one there years ago
You can also fish right off the boat ramp at Noel Ranch boat ramp
Have caught many there

Ideally for me, a spot where I can park my truck and fish while sitting either in the cab or under the shell on the back and still be able to get to my rod within a very few steps without climbing over riprap or other rough ground is best.
Boat ramps are usually my preferred access points when I can use them without interfering with launch traffic.

We built a fire next to the boat ramp and spent the night in the motor home in the parking lot
Easy fishing
caught a 35 and a 36 incher that night
I remember it was late October

I fish for Stripers in the Sacramento and other rivers with my brother in law near Chico, Ca. Each year in May. We do well. But, I live in Bay city Oregon near Tillamook, so it's quite a drive. I'm looking for striper fishing that is much closer. Your posts give me hope. Would you know of any guides who do Striper fishing trips?

Thanks, Steve
