"Fly fishing only" verification

If a river says "fly fishing only," i assume i need a rod with a fly reel and tied flies, no exception. Is that right?

If a river says "restricted to artificial fly and lure," i assume that means i can use whatever rod and reel as long as I'm not throwing baits and plastics.

Nevermind, i just realized i can look up the definition of fly fishing in the synopsis. Verified myself.

Fly-fishing: Fishing with a fly rod and fly line combination with an artificial fly. Does not include the use of spinning, spincast, casting rods and reels and lead core lines.

Make sure you double check the exceptions portion of the regs. A lot of those rivers that are "fly fishing only" will allow you to use a spinning rod. You just have to have a fly on the end of it.
