Wanted to get out and do some fishing ..but knowing the water level of the Wilson River was under 5ft I thought there was little
chance of hooking a fish ....well....I was wrong! This is my first Steelhead! (Hatchery fish)

Great job on the first! Looks like a dandy cookie cutter to me! Chromer

Nice fish!! Way to go!!

that is a beauty, nice job.

I've caught more winters on the Wilson below 5 feet than above. People catch summers when the flow is near-nothing. I've never sweated low levels on the Wilson.

Props on the catching, and joining the club.

Nice job, I love those older stradics!

Congrats! Yesterday seemed like a tough day to pull a steelhead out of the Wilson.

Older Stradic? This is a brand new Stradic 2500FJ .... :)

It may be new to you, but it is an older model. I dig it. There's been two newer ones made since ( Blue and then black ) and are supppper light, but for some reason I've always been a fan of the whiteys.

Nice catch! darthintel, did you get it on a lure?

Nice fish and congrats on the first of what I'm sure will be many future steelhead :)

This is what I used .....

Seems to be working everywhere right now...I saw a lot of chrome caught on the Sandy last week with that exact setup, or that and a tiny piece of yarn!! Going to Fisherman's to stock up after work!! Thanx!!:thumb:

The water was low and clear ...so the yarn wasn't needed.
