I agree. Most of the lures on the list have a time and a place where I reach for it first. An interesting twist on the list might be your favorite in each category:

Soft plastic: 3" senko (wacky or carolina rig) or 4" zoom dead ringer (carolina rig or shaky head) both in pumpkinseed.

Spinnerbait: 1/4 or 3/8oz white spinnerbait, tandem willow, gold blades.

Topwater: Tiny torpedo in a minnow looking color.

Spinner/spoon: I don't use these much for smallmouth.

crankbait: Luhr jensen hot lips express (if fishing 10-15') or speed trap (if fishing shallower) in a crayfish looking color.
