Went to the Coquille Saturday morning. About 20 minutes from the Powers/ Myrtle Point intersection was a small rock slide. Just a few boulders in the road but nothing to big. Fished a few holes that had chocolate milk colored water and then moved up to the nice green stuff. Caught a small 6 inch par and about an hour later, hooked up. A nice, wild 8 1/2 pound steelhead. We fished the rest of the day with no luck and then headed to The Mill Casino in North Bend. Spent all day Sunday fishing with not a bite and then headed back home to find out that Hwy. 42 had been closed to a big land slide that was currently happening. So had to go all the way back to Coos Bay, to Reedsport, to Elkton, to Suthernline, to Winston to get my truck, then back home to Eugene. Stopped by the Elk viewing point in Reedsport, which lightened up the trip a little bit. What a fun night. All in all, it was a good trip.
P.S. Hwy. 42 is still closed and probably won't open up until later tonight or tomorrow morning.
