Deschutes River (2-27-16)

Stopped by to fish the deschutes river just off the highway at warm springs. fished till 4 and caught 1 native rainbow trout and a couple whitefish. and something weird happend, I decided to throw a fly (prince nymph) and caught a Sucker!!!! it was about 5 pounds. I know they are bottom feeders but he slurped my fly !!! After a while I saw like 7 more suckers just jumping out of the water. I guess they are mating? I'm not sure but its kinda weird. catch and release type of day. was a beautiful day warm and sunny no wind!

Wow I didn't realize I had the wrong date. IT WAS 2/20/16

Yeah, those guys are funny. I pulled a lot of them on a lure. )
