july 6-12 ill be going to medford and i was wondering if there was any good places close to go and try to catch some trout.

The upper Rogue River near Medford has trout, salmon and steelhead in it this time of year. Also Diamond Lake is about 1.5 hours away and is some of the best still water trout fishing in Oregon! Good luck!

Definitely the Upper Rogue... and continuing waaayyyy up the rogue is still good too.

Your rod will be fine, its your tippet you need to rethink. With that current a 12" fish feels like the Steelhead of a lifetime...great place to spend a year or two..

what u thank 5x or 3x or what u thank i normally use real light tippet like 6 or 7x for that extra finesse
