Central Oregon mid Sept (no boat)

A couple buddies of mine are heading out for a 3 day fishing trip September (11th-13th). Don't get over to central Oregon much to fish. Mainly fish the North Santiam and the McKenzie. I fish the Metolius a few times a year to remind myself I'm not very good šŸ˜€. Thinking of fishing the Crooked river below the dam, but interested to know if there is someplace I should go instead? Thanks for your help

Re Fall River:

Kind of a small fly game in that creek. Griffithā€™s gnat or similar pattern. Itā€™s a clear spring creek type thing.
Be stealthy and fish upstream. If you do try a hopper type, I like a smallish, fat Albert. Run a small nymph dropper 12ā€behind it. I like a size 18 or 20 prince nymph, copper john or pheasant tail.

Evening to dark is best.
Be warned, this place is no secret.

good luck!
