This spring I was able to get my hands on an old Alumaweld drift boat that had been seeing rain water instead of river water. I got it from the original owner and other than rotting for several years, was in very good shape. I got it home, scooped out the floor that was now just mud and started scrubbing the green stuff.

I installed exterior plywood, coated with exterior paint and finished with a grit add in for the top layer. For the haters, I didn't use diamond plate... get over it, i dont want to hear it
I like this style because I got to choose my own floor color and it left a bunch of options to customize. The boat is garaged, so it will last a very long time. I used a sage green color so that it doesn't absorb the heat but also doesn't glare it back at my face. If it gets muddy, it just looks like camo
. I took a grinder to all the grungy trim pieces and left them with a raw pattern finish.

We caught lots of trout on the first 2 trips but on the third, finally some real success.

The drifter is now officially back in action!
