Bought my new license, but

my printer isn't working to print a paper copy.
I tried several times to get it onto my phone with no success.
I'm not very good with such things.
So I just took a photo of it off ODFWs PDF.
I hope that's good enough, provided, one, I can find the photo if I need it, and, two, I remember to take my phone with me.
Unlike most people today, I'm not welded to my phone, so I tend to forget it as often as not.
But I still need a paper copy of my license to place in my wallet.
Unlike my phone, I never leave my house without my wallet in my pocket.

A library or mail center should be able to print it for you.

The convenience of the e-license and tag make sense for me, and I don't want my wallet looking like George Costanza's. I'll be adding the WA version to keep the OR one company for 2026.

Carry your drivers license with you. The DFW guy can check it through the DMV. I had to do this on the 30th and the DFW guy reminded me that it had one more day before expiration.

Yeah, I'm aware. I've used the library before.
Just have to remember my password instead of using the password minder on my computer.
I can also just go to my Granddaughters house a couple of blocks away to use hers, with the same effort for the password.
I could even go to Bi-Mart and give them a dollar or two, and they'd print me a copy.
But I still need to figure out how to get it to work on my phone.

You know, I'd think that with the license using the same number every year, all I should have to do is present the license number, and they could easily look it up.
After all, they are going to do so anyway.
But maybe not. It seems to me that when I've had my license checked, they only looked at it to make sure it was current, I suppose. I don't recall them doing anything more than just reading it.
But then again, I've had my license checked so many times in my 70 years, I hardly pay any attention to wardens and what they are doing other than answering any questions they ask (nowadays asking me questions can be an experience in and of itself considering my extreme hearing loss, even with my implant working), seeing as how I do all I can to fully comply with the rules.

I very simple and easy way to get a copy on anything newer than a flip phone is to screenshot the receipt or license page and save the photo to your phone. All the information any and all LEO would need would be on that photo.

I did that. I'm just not sure if I'll be able to call it up if I need it.

If all else fails...give the ODFW OFFicer, or LEO, your driver's license. Then they can look it up, on their laptop.

Practice ahead of time. If it is on your phones photo's memory and not on a cloud where you need internet service you are golden.

Yeah, I do that, but remember, I'm well over 70 and for some of us, remembering how to do things, especially things we've recently learned, can be a slippery endeavor.

Heck, I'm 65 and have that issue. ;-)
