Bass fishing near Waldport?

FYI any given property in Oregon does NOT have to have no trespassing signage posted. I found that out the hard way in the 80's.

Oh as far as bass - been some GREAT small mouth fishing here on the John Day - I got into a wide open, crazy topwater bite and got the largest smallies I've ever caught here on the John Day.

Super bonus it's been almost sheet glass from sun up until about 1pm. Here's the fly I used that got the biggest smallmouth - I tied it from a Rainey's Slider head and I used Kreneik material and rubber legs in the skirt.

Thanks! I'm going to be in Eugene for a day coming soon - if you have any advice for me as to where I should spend a day fishing (smallies or largemouth) I'd really appreciate the info.

Thanks - it was a beautiful fish - all were released to fight again... what a great place to fish. Luckily no flies stuck in me this time- consciously debarbing my hooks for the inevitable day when my ear gets pierced by one.
