I had a coupler of hours free today so I went up to JC pond.
I was there from 12 to 2:00 and not a bite.
I didn't see anyone else getting any fish or getting a bite.
After my hands turn numb I give up and came back home.

I was there today from 10am till 5pm. I got one hit caught one fish, a 5lb rainbow, fly fishing. One other person caught an 8.5 lb. on power bait. These were the only two fish I saw caught all day. The birds got some.

You left before the action started

The main event of the day happened before I appeared there. Maybe grampa Ron will share with us a story about a brooder pulling a pole in the pond and an angler jumping in the water after his pole?

P.S. Thanks Ron for willing to share a secret what to use to catch such a beauty  (Ron is a guy in my report showing the fly he caught 5lb trout with)

Great vid report, huge brooder...

Ron, do you make those flies your self?

Thanks for sharing your tactics as well as reinforcing the power bait contingent..lol

Hope to see more vids in the future.

Brooders in Junction City Pond

Brooders in Junction City Pond

Nice video! The Roaring River Hatchery dropped about 30 Brooder Trout each, from 6 pounds up to 15 pounds at Junction City Pond, Walter Wirth in Salem and nearby at Walling Pond. They do this every year at this time. They stock E.E. Wilson also, but not this time. The Roaring River Hatchery, at 503-394-2496 has a recording about their drops. Call the number and when the answering machine comes on press option two to listen.
