    Where do they go?

Think again. Along with the rivers you listed, most of the major Columbia and Snake tributaries have runs of steelhead. John Day, Yakima, Grande Ronde, Deschutes, Wenatchee, Clearwater, etc....

Bass Fishing on Siltcoos and Tahkenitch

Thanks. Are you a shop or just someone wanting to help out?

    ODFW take notes!

Sure they can. Fish stocker dumps fish in lake, reports the info to WDFW, they put it on the web. If it doesn't happen, it doesn't go up. The scenario you're describing is the problem with only having projected plants. You liked the phone confirmation? Confirmation data for the whole...

    ODFW take notes!

Nothing, if you remove the word projected. I've beat this horse long enough. I'm done.šŸ„³

    ODFW take notes!

I think they could do better in producing a product many of their customers want. They have the data, they need to be transparent and share it. Not sure how that's "slamming"? I'm happy what they offer works for you, but some of us could use more info.

    ODFW take notes!

As with the WDFW, the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC knows how to share a ton of useful information.

Lure Mutations are easy to make and catch fish!

Glad you're having fun playing Frankenstein with little plastics. Ever try it with large baits? I know cutting the tail off and 8" Huddleston and gluing it to a 6" was such a popular mod that Hudd started producing the 68 special. Wedge tail baits were a breakthrough.

Who knew a grub body minus an action tail would catch so many fish!

Speaking of the beetle spin. Fisherman's has all sizes on closeout for .80 or the 1/32 for .30, good deal if anyone wants to stock up.

Who knew a grub body minus an action tail would catch so many fish!

I doubt you'd notice a difference between what you're fishing and a Micro TRD. I like fishing ElaZtech in this situation because it's buoyancy makes it stand up off the bottom.

Who knew a grub body minus an action tail would catch so many fish!

Current edition beetle spins have a split tail.

Beetle spin is a great lure and it does look similar, as does the Trout Magnet.

Recent long detailed discussion on color: was it predictive of which colors to use and when?

It's not just flies and I'm not saying you're wrong (all the time). I have plenty of purely reaction baits in my arsenal. Let the fish tell you what they want. If you can't cover both the natural and unnatural sides of the coin there will be days you go fishless. Like you said, "keep an open...

Recent long detailed discussion on color: was it predictive of which colors to use and when?

Is a fly a lure? My experience fly fishing for trout disproves your hypothesis. Many times I've experienced a total skunking until putting on the right color and size of a pattern. After taking a throat sample it's easy to see they can be very selective. I've had similar things happen...
