    Thoughts on Pikeminnows?

When you catch them and you're not on the Columbia or near a registration area...do you kill em? Do you release them? Eat them? I've caught quite a few on the Clackamas. Released them but am wondering if I should have done something else. These things eat steelhead and salmon smolt correct?

    First Nook!

Popped my cherry today too, went with Joe Salvey of FishHawk Adventures. He got us onto the fish almost immediately after we got to the fishing grounds. Left the dock at 6am ish and we were limited out with some jacks to spare by 9am.

    Bank fishing the Columbia

Over at tanner creek saw about 30 guys today. One huge sturgeon launched into the air and broke off on another guys line. As for me, the skunk continues. Trying spinners and pautzke's today.

    Who want to go fishing?

Thanks Fish, no luck for me. There was another guy yesterday working up and down the river. Looked like he was using a bobber and jig as well. We compared notes and ended up witht he same results. I got there at 7am and stayed till about 12pm. I saw fish boil, just no luck in biting.

Is a 15' foot aluminum boat too small for the Columbia?

I think it would be prudent for me to practice launching over there and scouting those waters before things really pick up. I appreciate all the advice you all have given. One thing I am most afraid of is other boaters and them yelling at me for doing something wrong. I don't know what the...

In other words, would I get laughed at if I launched out of the ramp near blue lake and fished those areas? 15 horse motor is all.
