    Fort Stevens in September

Thanks for the tip! Should I fish for perch just anywhere along the beach or are there some known spots I should target?

    Fort Stevens in September

Got a camping trip planned for the week after Labor Day at Fort Stevens. I'd like to get some fishing in, but the folks I'm travelling with are not into it so much, so charters are out of the question. At best I'll be able to get away for a few hours and I'm curious where I should go. Coffenbury...

Rivers Alton Baker Canal Fishing Reports

I haven't used facebook in 5 years. What are people catching in the river at west D? I've scouted a few river spots between Day Island and Ferry Street Bridge but I haven't fished them yet. I have 4 days OFF this week and I'm looking to get caught up.

Yes, overcast weather yields the best fishing in the pond. That's been my experience, and the only trophy-size 'bow I've caught in there was from an overcast morning last October. Yesterday I was fishing powerbait floating worms 2' off the bottom on the south side of the inlet, hoping to hook a...

Rivers Alton Baker Canal Fishing Reports

Report for morning 8/5/2020: No pics, sorry. Hit the bank around 7:30 a.m. Fish appeared to be schooled up in the center of the pond, judging by the location of the fly fisherman in the float tube. Water level seems high and water temp was 63 deg F. No luck for the first hour, then switched...

I think I'm gonna go tomorrow night. I want to try jigging in some of the weed beds south of the inlet and see if I can catch another yellow perch outta there. I caught one last summer right off the bank, it was maybe 8 or 9 inches and I threw it back. Anybody else ever catch a perch in the pond...

I haven't been to the pond yet this year, though I'll have a lot of time OFF coming up so I'll probably try it a few times in the coming weeks. Evening seems like it might be too warm to fish with this hot weather, so I'll probably head over in the mornings. Got a new rod and some new tackle I...

I never get skunked, but sometimes I undertake extended reconnaissance missions without contacting the enemy.

    Lakes Diamond Lake Fishing Reports

Skeeters were active but manageable at the main campground on the East side. I heard they were pretty vicious over at Thielsen View cg. Our campsite in G section had moderate skeeter activity from dawn 'til dusk but they were barely noticeable down on the shore or out on the lake. Idk if that...

    Lakes Diamond Lake Fishing Reports

Quick report: Fishing was tough, the wind was heavy with a rough chop from late morning until late evening every day I was there. Caught a nice 'bow maybe 14-15" with dark red meat right off the dock at the main campground, on 2' leader #10 octopus hook with one green/one orange powerbait egg...

    Lakes Diamond Lake Fishing Reports

Hey everybody, I'm about to head up to Diamond Lake next week for a camping trip. We'll probably rent a boat for a day, but I'd like to try my luck from the bank as well. The jetty and the dock are obvious spots, but I'm curious if there are any other locations I should try. I don't mind hiking...

    Stream fishing for dummies

Hey all, just came back from a productive trip to Clear Lake. Came home with a cooler full of smoked trout and a wicked sunburn. Anyway, on the way home we cut across the mountains to Oakridge. Ended up on the Middle Fork Willamette just above Hills Creek Reservoir looking for a swimming hole...

Fish were biting like crazy tonight! I hauled in four rainbows between 9"-11" and my boy caught two - including a nice fat 13-incher. The fly fisherman guy on the float tube probably caught and released 20-30 while we were there.
