I agree with that for sure. I was given a Sage rod from a client and I won't use because I don't want be one of those yuppies. Give me a Lami or even better a $50 pflueger fly rod and I am good to go. The cheaper is usually a better rod in the long run anyway, and who wants to wait a month for...

Fish are fish and if they want to eat they will. I have caught 12 inch trout on a #5 blue fox, so it could have been anything. T he better questions would be what kind of water was this fish in, and how did he react, (.IF you had time to get a reaction). That will usually tell the type of fish.
