    Mag Lip/Kwikfish hook replacement

And while you're messing with that, I'll put a drop of scent on the belly of the plug, get the line in the water, and hopefully don't interrupt you too badly when I tell you to grab the net.

    Mag Lip/Kwikfish hook replacement

I've done pretty well with the factory hooks on Maglip 3.5 and 4.5. Never saw much reason to swap them. A buddy runs a couple with single hooks, and I can't say I've noticed much difference.

    Bleeding a fish

I always bleed them by cutting the gills immediately after bonking it. Keep the lactic acid out of the meat, or so they say.

    Kayak fishing Devil's Lake

Been a whole ton of years since I fished it out of human-powered boat. The outlet (D River) isn't an issue -- the wind is an issue. If you can find a place to launch on the east side of the lake (not sure if you can), you'll be much happier getting back.

    Crabbing newbie

I don't believe it's a legal requirement to have a rot cord in Oregon -- Washington and California, I believe it is. I've never crabbed at Yaquina (which seems odd for me). But pretty much any of the coastal bays will have crabs with the lack of rain (although I'm guessing Astoria/Columbia sucks...
