    Looking for a fun fight!

Some baits are better than others on a given day, in a given place. Some scents are also better than others. I have had days of catching 20 fish on sand shrimp, while unnamed Mr. Ed catches ZERO ON SMELT, BECAUSE HE THINKS ALL BAITS ARE EQUAL. Be prepared with multiple baits. Sand shrimp has...

    2012 buck and no elk

Sorry I don't get around much. Just returned from 4 weeks in the woods of Eastern Oregon. The weather was hot and the woods were dry. Our party of 5 only got one elk. I managed to get a buck, but 90 degrees daily made for a lean hunt. Had fun nonetheless.

I caught a little 10 lb. Umpqua Jack last Thursday. Water's getting too low. Might be time for Middle Fork steelhead.

Going again Thursday. Will try really hard to gain your disdain. But I will always like you. BTW, Tobe's finger looks almost like new. Modern medicine is miraculous.

    They are here

Caught a 12lb springer on Thursday, the smallest adult springer I have ever seen on the Umpqua. If my fishing partner sends me a picture, I'll post it, but it looks more like a Willamette springer. Better than a skunk, though.

Springer Qwest Springer Qwest I'll be singing ( or my line will) in the rain tomorrow, somewhere on the Umpqua. Water level is down to 9'. Hope it doesn't rain too much tonight.

    They are here

I finally got out for some fun. Umpqua springers, if not the best salmon in the world, are certainly in the top five. This was yesterday. 31 pounds on a digital scale. (de-liar)
