It was mainly a trip for our 7 year old grandson to practice his kayak skills. I did troll a bit and tossed Senkos in my never-fails bass spot. I was 1 for 4 on the bass. Having a limber kokanee rod didn't help with the hook set.

We went on 6/20 and it was plenty high.

Scored two Plano boxes with about 60 lures for$30. Lots of old or antique items with some rusty or missing hooks plus the boxes. I'm not sure if I needed them but couldn't pass it up. Someone's grandpa must have quit fishing.

I just use a decommissioned steelhead rod, 8'6" and a decommissioned President reel. Be sure to hose the salt off after use. I can cast a 3 oz. sinker to kingdom come.

I recall reading that they are thought to not travel far from their river mouths. Any bay large or small should have some in the summer.

I also wanted to try. It's catch and release ans artificials only per the regs. I heard there are cutthroat trout.

I've been bank fishing for steelhead maybe 20 years now. One thing I do is carry two rods rigged differently like one hardware and one bobber rod. Then you can switch things up quickly.

Yes, they are effective. I usually don't fly fish but I bought a handful of those from the guy in Albany and have used them in tidewater a time or two.
