    Fishing Rock State Park

Cool, Yeah I have seen Sammy on YouTube and thanks I will take you up on that offer. Not this weekend though as I think it will be a zoo anywhere you go with it being free fishing crabbing and clamming all over.

    Tillamook jetty...

Think like a fish... would you want to be out and about in that rough stuff? No and neither do they. Fish the slack tides when the water is calmest. Also go to the Barview store and ask the owner what is hot to trot at the moment and do exactly what he suggests..

    Weyerhauser closing siletz gorge! ?

I signed it earlier this year. This needs to be posted some place other than just the Steelhead page. Maybe a place where every visit can see it?

    Barview Jetty crabbing

In Garibaldi there are two public places to toss crab rings, traps or max's. Use chicken or turkey legs. I also hear tuna works well. I have caught crab off the piers using Crab Max traps that you cast with a rod or just toss them with a hand line although a bigger trap or ring might work...

You can tell the health of a razor clam by how much fat is in the digger. Washington razors are crazy fatty. Oregon has less fat than Washingtons...

Would you share the recipe or method for canning clams. I usually freeze mine in salt water. What do you do with the diggers?

YouTube has videos on razor clamming. William Lachner (sp) has a book on it and offers some classes. Here is a picture of a nice Razor out of Ocean Park.

    Bayview jetty

That's kind of what I do although I don't use the Carolina rig with the egg sinker. I use 3/8oz lead head jigs and the white Berkley Gulp curly tails. Cast out as far as possible and let it sink and then start jigging and letting her sink again nice and slow. I think your set up would let you...

    Bayview jetty

The first time I went fishing at the jetty. I went to the Barview Jetty Store and talked to the owner. Told him I never fished the jetty before and asked what rigs and bait to use and what presentation and techniques work best. I bought everything he recommended and went away with 2 greenling a...
