Where do you shop for tackle??

90% of my shopping this year was done at Tacklewharehouse.com free shipping on orders of $50 or more and they are usually cheaper then the local stores and always cheaper(or the same price) as basspro or cabelas.

    Bass are picking up

I could have answered my own question if I had taken the time to look at a full size pic instead of just the thumbnail. Thanks

Good job. What part of the river? Above Salem?

    Regulation clairification

To answer the question, YES it must be caught in public waters. All warm-water fishing records for the state of Oregon are kept by Oregon Bass and Panfish Club not by ODFW. (IMHO ODFW only cares about cold water fish so get used to it:rolleyes:)

    Snake River bass

I spend about a week there every year. For numbers you can't beat Oxbow, but for size you are betters off at Brownlee or Hells Canyon. I love all three for different reasons.

    Bass in the winter

Just remember that this time of year, if you get two bites during 6 hours of bassing it WAS a good day. If you actually land both of those bites it was a great day.

    Bass in the winter

bigsteel, Yes you can fish off that dock or at least part of it. The part where the sternwheeler parks is off limits but the other end is fishable and there are a few members on this site who fish that dock. The Wallace side(west side) of the river is pretty shallow for winter fishing...

    Bass in the winter

Yentz, I fish it from a boat year round BUT 90% of the bass I catch(including in the winter) are within casting distance from shore. This time of year I don't find many bass on the bottom as they are usually suspended. For example if you were fishing the Willy in Salem from shore between the...

    Bass in the winter

I haven't even started fishing for winter bass, since it is still fall.(first day of winter is Dec. 21st) :D I will likely get one or two more trips before the end of the year. Two ways of fishing for them this time of year... One is to use jigs or soft plastics and dead-stick...

    Dont eat the brown fish

If this little spill upsets you people, you should try looking into what really goes into the river. Try looking into the sewer treatment regulations for the cities along the Willy. I have not researched ALL of them but of all the sewer treatment plants I have looked at they are allowed to...

    More big bass from Newberg.

I have to deal with people fishing on that dock often as I am trying to take my boat out of the water. The reason the sign is there is because some people refuse to move out of your way when people are trying to get their boats on or off the water. 95% of the people I see fishing off the dock...

    2 rods? (carp!)

Just like the last two people said, next year. I would recomend you check the regs before you even buy the second rod stamp/tag or what ever they are going to call it, because like stated above you will not be able to use it in all areas. Basicly if there are salmon/steelhead in the body of...

Hooking on a lunker before season is over!

troutmasta, This time of year I only fish behind the island for largemouth, not that you can't find a few smallies in there now but the smallie fishing is better in the spring back there. As for the Yamhill, we still need some rain before that will pick up this year. I posted at the other...

Nice job guys. Fishing is just starting to pic up.

Hooking on a lunker before season is over!

You would have to ask someone else about the local largemouth but I can say 100% for sure what the smallies are going to do. As the water levels starts to rise and the temp start to fall the smallies will actually move more shallow then they are now. That will provide you with even more bank...
