If you're looking at the Sandy, it has several well known areas. Lewis & Clark, Dabney, Oxbow, and Dodge. These parks are along the river, from low to high. As to where fish might actually be on a certain day? Figuring that out is the hard part. ;)

Edit: typo

There aren't many secret spots on the Sandy for fall and winter fish. The places that Lawyer Bob said are all good. Cedar Creek is an absolute circus around coho season but there are a lot of fish too. Get there really early and bring your own rock to stand on. (aka North Fork Nehalem of the east) Not my scene but if you don't mind crossing lines with 100 fishing buddies there are fish to be caught. Winter steelhead season is pretty similar.

Go west on hwy 22 from Salem toward Lincoln City. Probably a two hour drive from Gresham. It should be worth the drive, plus you can check out the buffalo herd...:thumb:
