Hah....got your attention. So, Dave and I went out Sunday to check out the upper Santiam and Breitenbush. Water was still real high and we seen no fishys.....but, I got to try out my new rod :dance:and it is sweet.......I forgot the camera so only had my cell. Echo 5wt 9ft with Allen Arbor reel.....I'm not worthy!!!!!!

The title of your post was a cheap ploy to drive more traffic over here. Sadly, I have to admit that it got my attention. I only fly fish rarely, and then with a Bi-Mart rod kit. Your setup looks to be of very high quality- Congratulations!

hehe...64 hits....shame on you guys/gals. It is an Echo3. The line, Randy, is the best of course...Rio Gold high performance trout line in Moss/Gold. It was very smooth, especially nymphing. I didn't get to use it as much as I wanted but I will give another report when I get back tomorrow from a little creek I know of. Dave, shame on ME.....I didn't even let you try it....I will soon. I did share my Ritz tho.....and lastly, the rod I have been using that was giving to me by Sinkline when I shut mine in a bathroom door...:redface:...worked great and has caught me a lot of fishes and will continue to....so EJ and Jeanna remember....Its not the size, errrrr, cost of the rod, its how you use it.

BTW, the size of the Arbor was kind of intimidating but once I got it on the rod the union was complete. I didn't even notice. And I now have a clickity-click...:dance:

No, I didn't.


I stopped at a couple little cricks near Springfield on my way to the trout study tagging training today. Didn't get into any fishes but had one chase my dry for a short spurt.....and, yes, dry fly on my echo???? Suhweet. It was a beautiful day of course so I did get a couple of scenery porn.....



These ones are actually opening day with Dave and eggs. On that trip we got into numerous cutties and bows.
