Holy halibut Batman!!!

Made our first Halibut trip yesterday with great success. Tagged 4 and released one. Also picked up two lings.
We were out of Newport about 8 miles west of the Lighthouse in about 200' of water.

I remember having to release some fat lings while halibut fishing, such a bummer.

Yes you can retain lings when the ALL depth season is closed.

We went out of Newport again this last Saturday and it turned out well. We released 2 small ones in the morning and then after a long dry spell we tagged a couple smaller fish and a nice 45".
