Fly fishing steelhead

Caught this nice 9lber fly fishing a few days ago. Took it on the swing right behind that rock in the back of the picture there. Custom fly made by myself. Nothing better than catching fish on your own creations.

I lost my biggest fish of the season this morning on a fly rod...I was nymphing though, so not nearly as cool!

Thanks guys, nymphing is just so effective to not do sometimes though lol. I hand tie/make everything i fish for salmon or steelhead now, much more rewarding. I say make cuz i also make my own spinners.

would never claim I don't nymph, just LOVE a take on a swing... its amazing.
