Would I be better off getting a good inflatable boat to fish lakes and give up on the rivers and streams?

You can do both. I fish the lakes from an inflatable, and hit the coastal rivers for cutts from the bank.

Best Lure patterns for trout in Oregon?

For sea-run cutts, the weapon of choice is a gold-bladed Roostertail with brown body.

    Little Nestucca trout

Did well there last year at the Little Nestucca boat ramp, fishing with the tides...this year, not so much.

Trout opener moved to Sunday of Memorial Day weekend?

I think you have the coastal rivers trout opener confused with the Cascade Lakes opener. Cascades April 22; Coastal rivers, May 22.

Limited trout opener tomorrow...where ya gonna go?

Looking at hitting Odell on Monday.

    Trout fishing in Albany area

Come May 22, the coastal rivers open up for trout fishing. In your area the big three are the Siletz, The Yaquina, and the Alsea. Bait is okay in the Siletz, but the other two are lure only until after Labor Day, (except in the tidewater.) The trout in these rivers are coastal cutthroat...

Any new reports from Crane Prairie?

Thinking of heading up Wednesday, but I wonder how all the hot weather we've been having has affected the bite, or even the lake itself. Thanks In advance

    Aaron Mercer Res:Important info

Thanks so much for posting this, Brandon. I was, in fact, thinking of hitting Aaron Mercer tomorrow. Now I know that if I do, I should leave my inflatable behind. ( Dunno if I'll go now though; I don't mind fishing from the bank, but given the limited shoreline access on A.M., it's going to be...

    Sea-run cutthroat

I'm currently waiting for the SRC run to start on the Cowlitz. Last year they were getting them up to 20+ inches

    Advice please - bank fishing

For lake fishing from the bank, I recommend Wickiup Reservoir in the fall--BIG browns and 'bows. You want to go in at South Twin campground on the Deschutes arm, and fish below the buoy line near the launch ramp ( Above the line is closed to fishing in the fall. )

Real bad blue green algae bloom

Ouch! If Suttle has an algae bloom, can Crane and Wickiup be far behind?

    Eastside stillwater report

Nice cutts--and very nice to see that Mann Lake is coming back so well after having to be poisoned out. :)

    Fish in Waldo

Yes, there are fish in Waldo. Brookies and Kokes. They're harder than anything to catch though, what with the water being so clear.

    Royal trout slam

Whoa, now I'M interested in maybe hitting the Metolius this weekend; you're allowed to fish hardware as well as flies below the 99 Bridge. How difficult is the access to the water below that point, though? Anyone?
