    Trail cams

I've had really good luck with the Bushnell Trophy Cams. Just the older, smaller plain Jane models. They are 8MP and 740 video with field scan. We use them for security at work and I use them for wildlife watching/hunting. I've done some research on the newer Bushnell Trophies like the HD...

Max range for black tail with 150 gr 30-06

I'm probably not going to be doing any long range shooting anytime soon, I've been practicing in the 100-150 range and have been pretty consistent. The 360 yd shot was just to see if I could hit the paper which I did on the 4th round. Thanks :D

Max range for black tail with 150 gr 30-06

Going to hunt deer for the first time this year, been practicing my marksmanship with a 30-06 So far I can nail a bulls eyes up to 150 yds and can get on the paper at 360 yds. I've been shooting Remington Core Lokt 150 gr. I'm curious of the max/effective range that I can humanly put down a...

    Sig Mosquito or Walther P22??

Thanks :) I actually went with neither one of those choices, was told both the P22 and Mosquito are very finicky with what ammo you shoot through it, so I bought a Sig 1911-22.

    Sig Mosquito or Walther P22??

Looking for an affordable .22 handgun and the Mosquito and P22 fit the bill. Does anyone here have any experience with either one? Thanks Jig'n

    The anticipation

Eamon, It's Devils lake, right on the Cascade lakes Hwy near Sparks lake. It's no secret judging by all the trash and fishing line we packed out of there  To bad because it's a very beautiful place! Jig'n

    The anticipation

That a three year old has waiting for that bite :D I think we did pretty good for about 2 hrs effort, my boy hooked and landed 3 of these fish all by himself, not bad for a 3.5 yr old

Steelhead run in Silk Creek? (Cottage Grove area)

Like I said earlier, It was pretty shocking to see these fish. I was planting a few trees and heard a splash, thought it was the beaver that lived just upstream.

Steelhead run in Silk Creek? (Cottage Grove area)

If anyone tries to fish it, good luck because the whole creek is overgrown with berries and other brush with absolutely no bank to stand on and I'd say almost all the stream is on private property. The reason I brought it up was because I was wondering if anyone knew of an actual run on this...

Steelhead run in Silk Creek? (Cottage Grove area)

I don't want to fish for them! I was just shocked to see Steelhead in a stream that's the size of a ditch. This is the reason I really don't post much on Forums, people assume too much and get all bent out of shape before they have all the facts! Nowhere in my post did it say anything about...

Steelhead run in Silk Creek? (Cottage Grove area)

Has anyone ever heard of a Steelhead run in Silk Creek that runs through Cottage Grove? While planting trees the other day I spotted 4 Steelhead that appeared to be spawning, this was about 4 (driving) miles out of Cottage Grove. Jig'n

Over half of Oregon gone from shooters/hunters?

I'm not for closing the lands for shooting, but I really don't blame them. The BLM lands near my home are constantly trashed due to people shooting things, i.e. appliances, cans & bottles, etc. There is another area that's destroyed because of off roading, and every one of these area's have...

    Deer starts Saturday!

Yaaaay! let the trespassing begin!! I almost dread this time of year because we chase out about 2 hunters a day that don't belong. People, if the area is posted stay out!! For the people that follow rules and respect other peoples property/privacy good luck to ya and have a safe hunt! :)

Jigs - where to get hooks?

It's just a barb to help hold on the plastic tubes/grubs. Back when I first started tying I just bought the Gami heads and cut the collar off with a pair of wire cutters or an X-Acto knife. Ball heads are the best for tying jigs. Jig'n
