DAY 1:
Chatting with another angler got me thinking about changing up ever so slightly. Made an adjustment in my drift presentation today and it paid off. Well, after I decided to do some exploring to find some new-to-me water. Started slow but found a nice drift. It was getting dark quickly at this point but it didn't take long to get some action. My first fish absolutely hammered my presentation. It was a ~10lbr hatchery buck that fought like a wild fish and as I had it at my feet, it managed to snap off. Go figure... operator error. That fish hit sand shrimp so I decided to switch to some eggs. I was just starting to settle down after the first battle then another hard hitting fish gave me the business. This fish had me rock hopping down river. I was beginning to wonder if I hooked the same fish as before because they looked like twins but I then saw the extra fin. Landed released this nice wild buck. Would've like to put one on the tag but all in all was very pleased because some tweaks and extra effort paid off big time.

Day 2:
Got out for a couple hours yesterday and met up with a fishing buddy. He started off with the hot hand going 2-1 (one wild and one hatchery). The pics of his fish are on his phone. As I was thinking about tossing him in the river, it was my turn. First fish was a nice little wild thing...

Wasn't long after that one before I bonked this hatchery buck. I'm thinking smoked steelhead for this guy.

No secret methods on this day. Pink pills/corkies and eggs were money!!!

Congrats on a great week.

Thanks guys! Man, these fish keep me guessing. I think it's what I love about'em. What works one day doesn't work the next. Finding them can be harder than finding salmon because they seem to always be on the move and not hold like the salmon. But when you are fortunate, lucky or skilled enough to find them they sure do seem to bite better. IDK though, haven't been doing this very long but that's my story and I sticking to it for now.

Great report!!
