Thursday morning steel

I decided to go to my good spot after work and paid off. I was bobber fishing all morning for a couple hours trying about every jig and worm setup I had. I think I had a strike but felt like a snag. The feathers were pulled off and that's why I think it could've been a fish. I was about to call it quits and decided to switch to a spinner. Let it bounce off the bottom on a swing and reeled about 3 times and fish on. It was a strong fish and didn't put on a show. I thought I lost it in the middle of the fight because the line went soft reeled it in closer and saw the hen still on. Banked it and tagged another nice steelhead. It was 2 ounces shy of 13 pounds and 32.5 inches long. Got some nice big red filets.

looks like it's going to explode with eggs , nice fish.

Dang, that fish is fat! Nice work.

Yeah it was loaded with eggs. I also got caught in the moment and high sticked my pole when I banked it and snapped the tip of my rod.

Fatty for sure! Sucks about the rod, but its hard not to get excited.

congrats on the fish!

Sweet! Way to not give up, switch tactics and nail one. Hoping for a few more myself this season. ..

One hell of a fatty right there!! Good job on the solo landing. They can get tricky with longer rods.
