what size and brand of hook you like for winter steelhead?

depends what im doing. but size 1 owner cutting point will do most of my fishing

Right there with ya. Owner #2 for Summers, but sometimes still a 1 for the gap.

all go with 1/0 allso i anit a small hook fan. i use a size 1 for trout. size 2 or 4 have no place in a winter river

Haha, nice, I also use the same size hook for Trout lol, hard for them to swallow, I'll run up to a 7/0 for bobber and eggs or plunking for Chinook lol, always a 7/0 with a Herring though (I know, off topic )

Gamakatsu #2 for the majority of winter fishing, frequently down to Gamakatsu #4 in low water. Occasionally I'll use Owners but see no tactical advantage to them. The last owners I bought, the eyelet's were not crimped all the way to the shank of the hook! Pissed me off and I haven't purchased any more!

I never use any hook larger than a #2 for steelhead unless I am actually springer fishing during the tail end of the winter run.
