Hit the south mckenzie river today where it runs into cougar res. Never been there before..awesome water! caught a nice mckenzie redside within 5 min. on a prince nymph. lost that a few casts later and realized i did not come prepared with a good fly arsenal. Will post pictures within the next couple of days.

Brings back plenty of memories, have you tried the upper section of Walker Creek.....mostly untouched. Mainly Cutthroat in there but very peaceful...and nicer fish...
Thanks for the pictures....

Cougar for a reason

Cougar for a reason

Yea, it is one of the larger tribs of the lake. You can drive back around the lake on the gravel road and check it out...keep in mind when wondering those back country creeks...the call it Cougar for a reason.
Be patient there are some very nice Trout and Salmon in this body of water, very nice.

Does it come into the reservoir on the eastern side?

is that water "lure" friendly?! looks like a panther martin or thomas spoon would be deadly in that water.
