Saturday early afternoon I landed this Steelhead on the Mckenzie below Harvest Lane. As you can imagine I was quite surprised. With only 133 summers over the falls, it's like peeling 1 of maybe 20 fish out of there.

Thanks for posting, last year was just downright depressing. Lets hope numbers pick up over the falls. I have tried to fish that spot a couple of times with no luck, congratulations.

Just picked up fly fishing recently and caught this beautiful redside trout on the mckenzie river earlier this evening with a dry fly. Was 18-19 inches and really put my 6 wt rod to work. Was an awesome experience.

Has anyone fished in the Vida/Rainbow area since the fires? Thinking about a trip down there next week. Never fished the river which should be listed as sin in the Oregonian fly fishing bible.
