I went 2 for three today, First fish was a nice bright buck 29 inches guessing 9 lbs and he was a jumper put on quite a show. three times I had him near my net and he would take off, its tough trying to net a fish by yourself. 1/8 once #63 nightmare jig all the way through.
Second fish was another mint bright fighter my guess was about 10 lb hen she had a get out of jail free fin attached so after a nice fight she took off, # 63 again.
Third fish was a poor hook set and dull hook I had way to much slack in my line when the bobber went down, had the fish on for about a minute. Two good jumps and slack line "oh what a feeling". The point of the hook was about as sharp as a ball point pen
fish and learn on that one i guess. I hooked that one on a #31 Aerojig that's six fish so far on that flavor.
One thing I saw today that was really cool was a may fly hatch, I have never seen so many trout go nuts in my life it was almost like feeding time at the hatchery, the water just boiled with fish some were in the 12 to 14 inch size. When it fist started I thought I was seeing things. I tried to take a video but it didn't turn out well.
check out the quality of meat, yum!
