Lower Umqua river small mouth bass.

How low in the river do people fish for smallmouth bass. I stay the summer at Winchester bay and fish for salmon. I would like to try some bass fishing on days I can't go in ocean because of bad conditions. Only 18' prop/tiller boat.

they are at least down tp scottsburg. I haven't fished farther downriver for them so don't know more than that

I've caught them at least a mile below tidewater while targeting coho.

I've caught them as low as the Umpqua Wayside, but you would probably want to go to Scottsburg County Park. The fishing around there is good.
