The old trailer was just about rusted through In a couple of places.
The new (to me) trailer is in far better condition than I had any expectation of when I saw the price.
Only a little surface rust in a couple of spots, adjustable bunks in the rear, but in need of wheels.
I've ordered bunk brackets to reinstall the front bunks to fit the flat bottom of my jon, and I'm pretty sure I can jsut swap the 4 bolt hubs to use with my new last year, 5 bolt wheels on my old trailer.
Hardest thing to figure out will be how to reposition the loading guides as my jon boat is quite a bit narrower than whatever boat the trailer had on it.
Just a couple of quick mods that should only take a couple of hours, but for my old slow butt will probably take a couple of days.
After those changes are made, I will be challenged to swap the boat from the old trailer onto the new one.
Haven't figured out just how I'm gonna go about that yet.
If it all goes according to plan, I'll have a better serviceable trailer for less than I ever thought I would.
