Best catch ratio for the year was on a bead, nail polish was the winner. Crackel painted purple nail polish with the exception of 360's. Letting the curing agent completely dry out of the nail polish (about a week). Seasons salutations to all Tony

I've been reluctant to try new things but, in fact, just watched some bead videos, bought some beads and tied up a bunch yesterday. Can't wait to get out.

Crackle doesn't surprise me. In my experience with beads, anything mottled is good. I'd say beads catch at least 2/3 of my winter steelhead and the rest come on yarn and eggs or plugs.
